There are over two million students in University education in the UK, many of which are in communal accommodation or away from home for the first time – a crucial juncture for the leap to managing their own mental and physical health.
75% of mental illness develops before the age of 24, and IPPR research shows a 94% increase in the amount of students attempting to access support services over the past five years. Refero believes that better access to help, using familiar technology as a bridge to reaching equally familiar beacons of support, can help reverse this crisis.
Our objective is to enable students to have immediate digital access to GPs, mental health clinicians, pharmacists and support for long-term conditions, directly from their halls of residence or student services building.
